Best Insecticide for Grubs It’s no secret that grubs are one of the biggest headaches a gardener can have. Best Insecticide for Grubs Review

1. Scotts GrubEx1

View on Amazon

Owners of big gardens will probably like what Scotts has to offer. With this product, they can cover up to 10K sq. ft. and it won’t cost them a pretty penny. It’s also important to note that GrubEx1 was specifically formulated to be harmless for soil bacteria and earthworms. That means you won’t have to worry about any unwanted consequences. On top of that, the manufacturer backs it with a refund policy.

If you’re not satisfied with this repellent, don’t hesitate to contact support and get your money back. This insecticide protects against grubs for four months and is recommended to apply in mid-spring or early summer. There’s one big downside, though: GrubEX1 isn’t recommended to use with vegetables. So, only consider it if you’re growing plants, trees, or just want to protect your lawn.

GrubEX1 is very easy to apply, provides protection for up to four months, and treats 10K square feet of soil. It won’t kill bacteria or earthworms and comes with a satisfaction guarantee (refund policy). However, since it’s a chemical, I strongly advise against using it to protect vegetables.

2. ST GABRIEL ORGANICS 80080-P

The first thing that caught my attention when I got this repellent was its extended efficiency. Officially, the company backs it with a ten-year guarantee (when applied as directed). But, it can actually last up to 15 or even 20 years, which, of course, is great news. And it’s 100% harmless for pets and humans since this is an organic product, not a chemical.

Plus, like the previous insecticide, it only carries out targeted “attacks” and doesn’t kill any other insects and/or bacteria that are beneficial for a gardener. The only downside – this pest controller requires a lot of time to “settle in” and you might have to wait for a while to get the first results. Other than that, St. Gabriel Laboratories did an excellent job and 80080-P may be a very good investment for you.

If you’re not looking for a pest controller that takes less than a day to kill grubs, St. Gabriel’s product might be worth a look. It’s covered by a ten-year guarantee and lasts for up to two decades. Besides, it doesn’t kill any “good” pests and doesn’t have any negative effects on humans and animals.

3. BioAdvanced 700750B 24

This is the most affordable repellent on the list and, in many ways, it’s also the most reasonable purchase. That’s especially true if you’re looking to get instant results. BioAdvanced’s insecticide only requires 24 hours to deliver results. That’s achieved thanks to the company’s patented Rescue formula. The granules provide higher concentration while weighing less.

On top of that, it is deadly not only for grubs, but also for billbugs, crickets, grasshoppers, scorpions, ants, and more. I have to warn you, though, that it kills earthworms as well. If that’s important for you, it would be a better idea to look elsewhere. If not, this could be a safe bet for you, as it can cover up to 7.5K square feet at a very affordable price.

With BioAdvanced, you’ll get effective pest control for cheap. The formula takes very little time to kill grubs and a long list of other vermin. Sadly, it eliminates earthworms as well, but that’s a rather minor con, considering the price and the overall effectiveness. Ease of use is another reason to consider it over the competition.

Conclusion

There you have it: my list of the best insecticide for grubs. Overall, we reviewed three products from three different brands. They all come highly recommended, and I can confirm that these repellents will be money well spent. If you’re on a somewhat tight budget and need an affordable solution, BioAdvanced’s offer might be worth checking out. It’s highly effective against dozens of different pest types.

The other two products are more expensive but worth the price. For example, GrubEx1 covers up to 10K sq. ft. while St. Gabriel Organics provides the ultimate coverage. So, which insecticide will be the most reasonable investment? Only you can answer that question! Make your choice depending on what your garden needs and the budget that you can spend. And I’ll be happy to answer your questions in the comments.
